About ME

I am a seasoned educator with over 15 years of experience teaching, coaching, and training and developing novice teachers, instructional coaches, trainers, and school leaders. I create, design, coach toward, and implement systems and structures to help others reach their desired futures, together.

I began my career teaching Middle School Science in Phoenix Arizona and then transitioned to the world of teacher preparation by coaching and developing novice teachers.  After five years in schools, I began leading teacher training sites in Chicago, Illinois and Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Following my on-site training experience, I moved to a team that planned, organized, managed, designed, and trained nearly 3,000 incoming teachers and over 600 part-time staff yearly.  In collaboration with colleagues, I designed the Coaching and Leading Towards Outcomes frameworks at Teach For America.

I have two Master’s Degrees, one in Secondary Education and another in Education Administration and Supervision.  My training in Flawless Consulting, a Peter Block and Designed Learning framework, drives my work with others by building deep relationships and connectivity through consulting work.  Additionally, I am a certified Appreciative Inquiry Facilitator through the Center for Appreciative Inquiry.

Everything I do is guided by my four beliefs about work.  First, I believes that all work is people work and that above everything else, relationships matter. This means that all people deserve to feel cared for, supported, and challenged at work.  Another belief that drives my work is my deep belief in the goodness of people, knowing that ultimately, everyone is trying the best they can.  This makes empathy, care, and support and easy part of work.  My third key belief is that people who are doing the work on the ground are the experts at their world.  I support those on the ground drive the work knowing that my role is to provide insights, push thinking, and share my opinions when it makes sense.  And finally, I believes in working hard together and having fun.  We should not dread work, and it is possible to achieve great outcomes while enjoying the work together.  I will show up to work, fully, every time, and work hard to make sure those I work with feel cared, supported, and challenged in our work together.
